Display

Predator X28 display is the newest gaming monitor from Acer. It comes with all the features that make it a top-notch monitor. With a high refresh rate, fast response time, and excellent ergonomics, it offers a great 4K gaming experience.

The Acer Predator X28 has a 28-inch IPS panel, which provides great viewing angles. This model also uses a flicker-free backlight to reduce eye strain while you’re gaming.

Acer also has a great range of modern Acer gaming extras on the Predator X28, including a Reflex Latency Analyzer. This device measures system latency to allow you to optimize your settings.

You’ll also get an NVIDIA G-Sync module, which helps your computer recognize and react to your mouse and keyboard inputs. Additionally, you’ll receive full support for AMD GPUs.

The Predator X28 has a maximum 152Hz refresh rate. That’s pretty high for a 28-inch monitor. However, the screen isn’t particularly effective for HDR effects. Fortunately, you can change the backlight’s brightness to 450 nits.

The stand has gunmetal gray metal legs. It has a swivel and tilt function. There’s also an audio-out connection.

The USB ports are located on the left side of the monitor. There are four USB 3.0 ports, two HDMI 2.0b, and a USB 2.0 port.

Acer Predator X28 is priced at $850. While this is a good price, it’s also a bit more than some competitors.

Speakers

If you’re looking for a premium gaming monitor, then the Acer Predator X28 may be the right choice. It offers excellent performance, features, and ergonomics.

The Acer Predator X28 features a 28-inch IPS panel with 4K resolution. With a 10-bit color bit depth, the monitor covers nearly 90 percent of the DCI-P3 color space. This makes for a stunning picture. In fact, the display also features NVIDIA G-Sync engine support.

The Acer Predator’s backlight uses global dimming. This allows for a pixel response time of 1 ms, making it ideal for dynamic films and games.

However, IPS technology does have its limitations. Thankfully, Acer has a built-in color and light sensor. The sensor can adjust the display’s brightness and color temperature and even disable room lighting adjustment if needed.

The Acer Predator x28 comes with a pair of 2W speakers. They’re loud but don’t sound great. I found the speakers to be tinny. While they’re not bad for entertainment, they don’t have the bass and midrange that a gaming monitor needs.

For an added feature, the Acer Predator X28 includes a swivel and tilt. The stand offers a swivel of up to 25 degrees, and the angle can be adjusted from -20 to +55 degrees. Another plus is the stand’s gunmetal gray metal legs.

You’ll find the monitor, its cables, a manual, and a power cable in the box. You’ll also find a USB 2.0 port.

Panel uniformity

Acer Predator X28 is a gaming monitor that looks great and is well-equipped to handle 4K resolution. Its HDR technology and Zeroframe design are suited to esports players, and it has a number of features that will enhance your gaming experience.

The Predator X28 has a 28-inch IPS panel with a 3840 x 2160 resolution, a 152Hz overclocked refresh rate, and a GTG response time of just one millisecond. However, its IPS panel is not perfect.

Panel uniformity can be an issue for monitors, especially for cheaper units. Although the Predator X28 scored high in our panel uniformity test, it is not guaranteed. This is because each panel has different tolerances, and some models may have less uniformity than others.

While the panel uniformity on the Acer Predator X28 is good, some gradation is visible in darker tones. Overall, this monitor is better suited for viewing large blocks of solid color than HDR effects.

There is no doubt that the Predator X28 looks great, but it lacks HDMI 2.1, which is essential for playing games on the PS5. It also has a backlight with 400 cd/m2, but it cannot achieve the peak brightness required for HDR.

Generally, the more money you spend on a monitor, the worse it will be for panel uniformity. IPS panels are generally known for their stability and are free of off-center contrast shift.

G-Sync support

The Acer Predator X28 is a great 28″ 4K monitor. Besides having a great display, it also features official G-Sync support.

The G-Sync feature of the X28 monitor offers a smoother gameplay experience. Although the X28 has a 144Hz native refresh rate, you can also overclock it to a maximum of 152Hz. This shaves about half a millisecond off the frame delay.

Another thing you’ll notice on the Predator X28 is the thin bezel and matte black chassis. This is in keeping with the design of the Nitro series of monitors.

The Predator X28 also has a sleek, hard plastic outer component. That, combined with the Zeroframe design, means you’ll have a slim panel border that sits flush with the screen. It also pushes out bezels to make the usable area feel larger.

The Predator X28 display is HDR compatible, with a maximum peak brightness of 400 nits. It also has 90% color gamut coverage. In addition, you’ll get a 10-bit color bit depth.

One of the most unique features of the Predator X28 is the NVIDIA Reflex latency analyzer. This module works with the NVIDIA GeForce Experience software to measure system latency in real-time. If you play competitive games, you’ll appreciate this feature.

As you can see, the Predator X28 is a well-designed, premium monitor. Though it’s not the cheapest, it’s still an excellent value compared to its competition.

This monitor comes equipped with G-Sync, a technology that enhances response times for gamers. The X28 includes a built-in NVIDIA Reflex Latency Analyzer, which can help you detect latency while playing.

The Acer Predator X28 is available in gunmetal gray. It is a compact monitor that has a slim profile. It is compatible with the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

Despite the large size, the screen on the Predator X28 is incredibly responsive. Using a sensor called Acer ‘ColourSense’, it can adjust the brightness to help users see what’s on the screen.

The screen offers a G-to-G response time of 1 ms and a 0.2 ms VRB. The monitor also has a built-in color sensor that can be turned on or off independently. If the user leaves the screen, the color sensor can be set to a power-saving mode.

The stand for the Predator X28 is made from a durable plastic that rests on wide metal feet. The stand connects to the back of the display with a captive thumbscrew.
